PSAT

The Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT, is a practice version of the SAT exam. It comes in three forms: the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10. and PSAT/NMSQT.

Our school administers the PSAT/NMSQT in fall, and the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10 in spring. We’re happy to open our doors to any external student wishing to take any of these exams on our campus.

The PSAT 8/9 is intended for 8-9th grade students and is the first test in the SAT Suite of Assessments. The PSAT 10 is intended for 10th grade students and is slightly harder than the PSAT 8/9.

The test takes 2 hours and 14 minutes to complete and consists of 2 sections: (1) Reading and Writing and (2) Math. Most of the questions are multiple-choice, though some math questions ask you to type in the answer.

All PSAT tests have a score range from 160 to 760 by section and a combined score of 320 to 1520. Neither of the PSAT 8/9 or 10 scores are used for college admissions. The main purpose of the exams is to prepare students for the SAT exam.

Testing at QSI Tbilisi

External students are welcome to take the PSAT tests at our school, however, places are limited. Students must bring their fully charged devices for testing and have a charging cord if the battery runs out. We provide charging outlets, scrap paper, and pencils. Students can bring water bottles and snacks to have during the break.

All students are required to present their IDs to confirm their registration. No phones or other electronic devices are allowed during testing. Read more about what to bring on a test day.
